Endoscopic Sinus Surgery
Endoscopic Sinus Surgery removes blockages in the sinuses; however, utilizes an endoscope to magnify the sinus tissues and specialized instruments are then used to remove causes of sinus blockage.
Nasal Obstruction, or blockage, has many causes including some environmental such as cold or sensitivity to various irritants and some surgical such as a deviated septum. The most common symptom of Nasal Obstruction is difficulty breathing.
The nasal septum, made of thin bone and cartilage, is the wall between the nostrils that separates the two nasal passages. If the cartilage or bone is not straight, the septum is considered deviated and in need of a procedure called Septoplasty.
